Last evening, Harini managed a feat of 3 hour recital and it wasn’t surprising at all. What the audience witnessed was tremendous stamina, excellent foot work and great stage presence. If it not categorized already, Bharatanatyam should be called as a single-player endurance sport.
My favorite performance of the day was Shambu Natanam, composed by Patanjali some 2000 years ago. It was an ananda thandavam with vivacious movements and was musically delightful. Here are some abhinayas that I managed to capture from yesterday.
